Our Faith & Worship

What We Believe

At Christ Episcopal Church, we believe that God’s love is for everyone.

Our faith is centered on the life and teachings of Jesus, and the hope found in his death and Resurrection.

As part of the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican tradition, we value grace, beauty in worship, and a thoughtful, open approach to faith.

We believe faith is lived out in community through prayer, service, questions, and everyday acts of love.

Why Our Worship Is Structured

You may hear the word ‘liturgy’. It simply means ‘the work of the people.’ It’s the shared pattern of prayer and response we use in worship.

This shared pattern connects us with Christians across time and around the world who pray in similar ways.

The rhythm of liturgy gives us words when we don’t have our own and helps us bring our whole selves—mind, body, and spirit—into worship.

What Our Worship Is Like

Our worship follows a simple pattern: we gather, we pray, we listen to Scripture, we share a sermon, and we come to the table for Holy Communion.

If the structure feels new at first, that’s okay. You dont have to know what to do.

You’ll receive a bulletin that guides you through each part of the service. You’re welcome to participate as much or as little as feels comfortable.

How We Read Scripture

Each Sunday, we read from a shared schedule of Bible readings called the lectionary. Many churches around the world use these same readings.

Over time, this pattern helps us hear the big story of God’s love from creation, through the life of Jesus, into the life of the Church.

Reading Scripture together in worship connects us to a larger Christian family and invites us to keep growing in faith.

An Invitation

You don’t need to understand everything about Episcopal worship or the Christian faith before you come.

Come to come as you are. Sit where you like. Simply experience the service.

If you have questions, we would be glad to listen and walk with you.
