mindfulness & centering
Prayer is the way that we seek a deeper relationship with God, and with our true selves. Contemplative prayer is very much like eastern meditation. In addition to teaching about contemplative prayer, we also teach mindfulness practices. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is around us.
Red Door Ministries provides several opportunities to learn these practices and begin to live a more connected life. Mindfulness can be practiced throughout the day as we work. It relieves stress, increases attentiveness and calmness, and can also bring relief to physical pain and psychological distress and anxiety when practiced consistently. Mindfulness has many physical and psychological benefits. If you are interested in learning more about Mindfulness, Centering Prayer and Contemplative practices, please contact us at the church. |
