Liturgy: The work of the people.
Here's what happens every Sunday morning at Christ Episcopal Church
First and Third Sundays10:30 a.m. — Holy Eucharist
CEC Sanctuary and Facebook Live We break open the sacred scripture to challenge our minds. We break and share the sacramental gift of God to reshape our hearts to be more Christlike. At this service, we celebrate with traditional organ music and a small (but glorious!) choir that supports the whole congregation in our singing. Second and Fourth Sundays10:30 a.m. — Agape Meal
CEC Sanctuary and Facebook Live On the second and fourth Sundays of each month, when no priest is present to bless the Eucharist, we share in an ancient tradition known as the Agape Meal. This lay-led service involves singing songs of praise to God, and giving thanks for bread, wine, and our daily food.
Fifth Sundays10:30 a.m. — Holy Eucharist
On fifth Sundays, we have a shared Eucharistic service which alternates between Christ Church Cape and St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1010 N. Main St., Sikeston, MO). Here are the fifth Sundays for 2021, including which congregation is hosting each service:
